Food experiences are important to children. They already have strong opinions about the foods they like and dislike. Share these books with your child and then have a conversation about what they would do in some of the situations depicted.

Alligator Arrived with Apples by Crescent Dragonwagon.
There is going to be a wonderful Thanksgiving feast with each animal bringing part of the food. You know what alligator brought but what did goose bring? This book is good for hearing the rhythm and rhyme of our language and useful for practicing the sound of letters. It can also bring about discussions of Thanksgivings past, present, and to come.
